NIZHNY TAGIL, South-western Siberia, July 14 (AVN) - The delegation of the Kolomna Machine-Building Design Bureau has held talks with representatives of the USA, France, Turkey and China for supplies of the Arena active protection system, Nikolai Osokin, Arena's constructor general, told the Military News Agency.
The parties also discussed the possibilities of license production of the system.
The Arena system provides for effective protection of tank from anti-tank grenades and guided grenades applied from helicopters and ground killers. The system can intercept about 30 targets. It needs 0.07 seconds for target detention and reacting on it. After rebuffing a target the system is ready for rebuffing another in 0.2-0.4 seconds. The Arena system 2 times boosts the tank survivability in attack operations, Osokin added.
