KHANKALA, July 17 (AVN) - The 46th Interior Ministry special purpose brigade, which is to be permanently stationed in Chechnya, will be operational by November 1, 2000, a source in the North Caucasus Interior Ministry district headquarters told the Military News Agency Monday.
This was approved at a working meeting, conducted here with the participation of Interior Minister Vladimir Rushailo and his deputy - Interior Ministry troops commander Vyacheslav Tikhomirov, the source said.
All the seven Interior districts are taking part in equipping and manning the brigade. So far the Siberian district is doing best, having equipped and manned 70 percent of the formed battalions, Tikhomirov said.
The schedule for the brigade redeployment, as well as the measures for all the stages of the battalions formation and combat adjustment, were also established during the meeting. The combat adjustment training will start on August 1, and by October this year the brigade will be stationed in the northern and central parts of Chechnya.
