MOSCOW, August 15 (AVN) - Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Major-General Alexander Postnikov-Streltsov first deputy commander - chief-of-staff of the 22nd combined army, a source in the Moscow military district HR department told the Military News Agency.
Postnikov-Streltsov, 43, graduated from the General Staff Academy this year.
He was born in the Krasnodar territory. Graduated from the Kiev military school in 1973 and the Frunze Military Academy. He occupied different positions serving in the Land Forces in the Soviet troops group in Germany, the Odessa, Far Eastern and Moscow military districts. While serving in the Moscow district he took the position of the deputy commander - chief-of-staff in the guard Taman division.
The headquarters of the 22nm army is stationed in Nizhny Novgorod.
