UKRAINE TO OFFER NEW BTR-94 APC TO WORLD MARKET

KIEV, August 18 (AVN) - Ukraine is going to offer the new modern BTR-94 APC made only of Ukrainian components to the world armament market in the next few years, Grigory Malyk, chief of the Ukrainian Armament concern and director general of the Malyshev plant state-owned enterprise, told the Military News Agency.

According to him, the new APC has a principally new turret with a 30mm gun. Owing to its tenable armour the BTR-94 has high bullet safety and small weight. Recently the first produced body of the new BTR was presented in the Azovmash enterprise in Mariupol. The APC is capable of driving at a speed of up to 100 km/h. It has good amphibious and cross-country capabilities. According to the APC constructors, the new model appeared to be of interest for the UAE, other Middle East and North African countries. For instance, Jordan is negotiating with Ukraine on the supply of 50 new APCs.
