KOLOMNA, Moscow Region, August 22 (AVN) -- The machine building design bureau submitted papers necessary for signing a memorandum between Russia and the USA on co-operation in the field of further upgrading of the Arena tanks' active protection system to for consideration of the Russian government, Valery Kashin, bureau's first deputy constructor general, told the Military News Agency.
Currently this direction of the bureau's research activities arouses special interest of the potential foreign customers because its active protection system's development goes five years ahead of the foreign projects. The recent arms show in Nizhny Tagil proved it. It was this exhibition that gave the impulse to the Russian-American co-operation in further perfection of the system.
