MOSCOW, August 29 (AVN) - Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Lieutenant-General Ivan Fedin commander of the Navy aviation, a source in the Navy Staff told the Military News Agency.
Fedin replaced Colonel-General Vladimir Deineka, who retired.
Fedin was born in 1947 in the Smolensk region. He graduated from the Orenburg Polbin military aviation pilots school in 1968, the Grechko Navy Academy in 1983, the General Staff academy in 1990. He served in the Baltic Fleet occupying successive positions of a pilot-in-command's assistant, pilot-in-command, detachment commander, squadron commander's assistant, squadron commander, deputy regiment commander, deputy aviation division commander, the Baltic Fleet aviation division commander. Later he was transferred to the Black Sea Fleet to serve as a chief-of-staff - first deputy commander of the fleet aviation.
Prior to the latest appointment Fedin occupied a position of the Navy aviation first deputy commander - chief-of-staff.
Lieutenant-General Nikolai Novikov was appointed the Navy aviation chief-of-staff by the same president's decree.
Novikov was born in 1949 in the kemerovo region, Graduated from the Orenburg Polbin military aviation fliers school in 1970, the Gagarin Air Force Academy in 1986, the General Staff academy in 1998. He served in the Northern Fleet occupying positions of a pilot-in-command's assistant, pilot-in-command, detachment commander, deputy squadron commander, regiment commander, deputy aviation division commander - chief-of-staff, the Northern Fleet aviation division commander.
