HYDROAVIASALON 2000 TO OPEN IN SOUTHERN RUSSIA WEDNESDAY

GELENDZHIK, Southern Russia, September 5 (AVN) - The Hydroaviasalon 2000 international hydro-air show and conference to be held on September 6 - 10 will be presented here on Tuesday, the Military News Agency learned.

The show will take place at the testing base of the Taganrog Beriev aviation R&D enterprise and the city airport. The presentation is to be opened by Stanislav Rynkevich, deputy director general of the Russian Aviation and Space Agency (Rosaviakosmos).

According to a source in the show's organising committee, over 110 aviation companies from the USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, India, Turkey, Malaysia, New Zealand, Romania, Ukraine and other countries will present their products at the show. The visitors will see over 40 different type aircraft, which are amphibians, hydroplanes, shipborne and sea-based planes and helicopters. Different rescue means such as speedboats, special vessels, yachts, diving and water rescue equipment will also be exhibited.

Gennady Panatov, constructor general of the Beriev enterprise, said the show will exhibit sea-based missile systems being created within the framework of the Sea Launch international programme.

The organising committee of the show is chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov, who supervises the defence industry in the Russian government.
