YEREVAN, September 11 (AVN) - Colonel-General Gennady Troshev, commander of the North Caucasus military district comprising the Russian troops group in the Trans Caucasus, arrived here Monday, the Military News Agency learned.
Troshev accompanied by a group of district's officers is making a tour of the Russian military bases in the Trans Caucasus, a member of the group told the Agency. Later Troshev will fly to Tbilisi and then head for Abkhazia to visit the base in Gudauty. The general is also planning to visit some units of the combined peacekeeping forces in the zone of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict (Southern Ossetia), the officer said.
Troshev is planning to come back to Rostov-on-Don, where the district's headquarters is located, on Thursday.
