FED AVIATION MAKES GOOD EXECUTION OF REBELS IN CHECHNYA

KHANKALA, September 12 (AVN) - Federal SU-25 Frogfoot fighters have accomplished 16, an AN-30 Clank reconnaissance plane two, MI-24 Hind, MI-26 Halo and MI-8 Hip helicopters over 40 missions in Chechnya over the past 24 hours, a source in the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency on Tuesday.

The main strikes were inflicted upon the targets previously detected or reconnoitred by the army, the source said. According to preliminary data, four guerrilla fortified areas and two bases were destroyed. Three rebel groups that stopped for rest or noon halts suffered heavy losses in manpower as a result of the sudden attacks made by the army aviation.

An IL-76 Candid transport delivered 133 servicemen and three tons of technical cargoes to the main federal base in Mozdok and took over 200 men from the area of operation to Central Russia.
