MOSCOW, September 13 (AVN) - The "Fire Security on the Eve of the XXI Century" first international specialised show will be held in Moscow September 19 - 22, Lieutenant-General Yevgeny Serebrennikov, chief of the Interior Ministry state fire security service, told the Military News Agency.
The modern means and methods of fire-fighting are of great importance both for military and civilian installation. This was proved by the technological catastrophes such as the Chernobyl atomic power station, fires in different gas and oil pipelines, the Ostankino TV tower fire, etc. The aim of the exhibition is to draw attention of state bodies, enterprises, organisations and firms to the problems of fire security, rescuing people, introduction of new fire-fighting means, systems and technologies, the general said.
The show will be jointly organised by the Interior, Economic, Transport, Fuel, Atomic and Energy ministries, Moscow administration and the VDNH-expo. Over 150 leading Russian and foreign developers and producers of the fire-fighting equipment will take part in the exhibition. Among them are the All-Russian Fire-Fighting Equipment R&D Institute, the Protivopozharnaya Avtomatika company, ZIL plant. Several famous foreign firms will also participate in the show.
Different seminars and conferences are planned to be held within the frameworks of the exhibition, Serebrennikov said.
