MUNICH, September 14 (AVN) - Visiting Russian Emergency Minister Sergei Shoigu met NATO Secretary General George Robertson here Thursday, Yuri Brazhnikov, head of the ministry's international co-operation department, told the Military News Agency.
Shoigu and Robertson discussed phased rapprochement in the field of planning emergency humanitarian operations, restoration of Russia's participation in the European Co-ordination Centre for Disasters. The leadership of NATO and the ministry does not exclude the possibility of establishing a Marshall Centre affiliate in Russia.
Shoigu and Robertson also decided to carry out exchanges of specialists between the ministry and the NATO Civil Emergency Planning Committee.
