ST.PETERSBURG, September 15 (AVN) - The Sberbank-Kapital investment company is completing development of an investment programme for construction of 10 Valdai bulk carriers of the river-sea class for the North-western steamship line, the company's press service said on Friday.
The company is planning to attract long-term credits of the Russian Savings Bank to finance the USD70m programme, a press service official said. The Severnaya Verf shipyard, based in St. Petersburg, will be responsible for most of the works.
On June 14, the yard's administration signed a contract on development of the Valdai project's working documentation with the Vympel central design bureau in Nizhny Novgorod, the official said. As to the bulk carriers' machinery, it will be produced by the Neva shipyard, also in St. Petersburg.
Severnaya Verf is specialising in construction of vessels for the Russian Navy.
