MOSCOW, September 15 (AVN) - Russia and Italy will team up to maintain strategic stability on both local and global levels, First Deputy Secretary of the Russian presidential Security Council Mikhail Fradkov said on Friday.
Speaking after a meeting with visiting secretary general of the Italian Foreign Ministrty Umberto Vattani, Fradkin said Russia's Foreign Policy Concept marks development of relations with Italy as the country's top priority.
The two officials discussed a wide spectrum of issues related to interaction in various spheres, including in the field of security, a spokesman for the Security Council administration told the Military News Agency. They exchanged opinions on prospects of productive co-operation enhancement and increase of Italian investments in Russia.
Fradkov and Vattani paid special attention to completion of large-scale co-operation projects, such as Goluboi Potok, production of FIAT cars in Nizhny Novgorod and development of the YAK/AEM-130 trainer plane, the spokesman said. They also touched upon Russia's accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
