MOSCOW, September 18 (AVN) - The Central Almaz design bureau, the main developer of the air defence systems including the famous S-300PMU1, S-300PMU2 Favorit, S-400, will hold election of chairman of the directors' board, the Military News Agency learned.
The chairman of the board should be elected from representatives of the state that holds the control block of shares, Vladimir Simonov, director general of the Russian management systems agency told the Agency.
Talking about the reasons for the lasting conflict between the heads of the air defence systems developers spearheaded by the Almaz bureau and the leaders of the Defence Systems JS that effects the co-operation and makes supplies of the air-defence systems to the client, Simonov said that the conflict is everywhere where hard currency contracts are struck as of now.
He also said that the president and the government have already taken a decision on establishment of a integrated structure for designing and building air defence systems. It will unite the Almaz bureau, the Antei corporation and the Defence Systems JS. But none of the firms will preside over the new company. The new structure is planned to be formed in the next year already. A preparation phase is underway.
According to Simonov, the role of the State in the company will be major. A presidential decree being prepared now will grant the state with 100 percent of shares of the Antei corporation. The sate now owns 51 percent of the Almaz shares. The aim of the on-coming reforming is building new better air defence systems, promoting new developments.
