MOSCOW, September 20 (AVN) - Russian Air Force Commander Anatoly Kornukov met Indian Air Chief Marshal Anil Yeshwant Tipnis, Air Force chief-of-staff in Kremlin on Wednesday, a source in the Russian Air Force Staff told the Military News Agency.
The meeting discussed a broad set of issues of military and technical co-operation. Kornukov noted that India is Russian strategic partner and mutual co-operation between the two countries will rise. Kornukov also told Tipnis about the condition and perspectives of the Russian Air Force Development.
The Indian military delegation will visit command point of the Moscow Air Defence and Air Force district and lay wreaths to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
During the time of co-operation with India, Russia has supplied over 600 different combat planes, over 150 helicopters, some 100 air defence systems and 60 portable air defence missile systems. At present Russia is fulfilling the contracts for supplies of batch of SU-30MKI Flanker and MGI-29 Fulcrum fighters, KA-31LD helicopters (radar surveillance), Tunguska-M air defence missile systems, other armament. Russia is also upgrading MIG-21bis Fishbed planes that are also used by the Indian Air Force.
