GROZNY, September 27 (AVN) - Head of the temporary Chechen administration Akhmad Kadyrov started to form republic's customs service, a source in the administration told the Military News Agency.
The service will be formed in three stages, the source said. 20 specialist will be enlisted on the first stage. Then the service will comprise up to 80 men and up to 150 on the third stage. The customs posts are planned to be set on the Chechen part of the Russian-Georgian border and on the routes connecting Chechnya with the neighbouring regions. A half-ruined building in Grozny provided for the service will be repaired by April 2001.
A 5-strong operational group of the Russian State Customs Committee is working in Chechnya. The members of the committee are mostly occupied with studying social and political situation in the republic and analysing freight traffic.
