KIEV, October 10 (AVN) - The Ukrainian parliamentary committee for national security and defence has prepared a bill on ratification of the Urainian-US agreement "Concerning Realisation of Programmes and Projects of International Aid in Military Sphere", Boris Andresyuk, the committee chairman, told the Military News Agency.
Ukraine believes that implementation of the agreement will strengthen its Armed Forces, and will serve as basis for the country's full-scale participation in international military co-operation. The Ukrainian authorities intend to create the most favourable conditions for that., Andresyuk noted.
The agreement envisages exemption from all customs fees, taxes and other payments on the Ukrainian territory for its programmes. All the military aid received in the framework of the agreement, will become the state property.
"The official Kiev is more and more drawn into the area of US influence and getting farther from partnership with Russia," a source in Ukrainian parliament's left-wing bloc told the Agency. According to him, there are forces in parliament that are not satisfied with such policy and will vote against the agreement's ratification.
