KHANKALA, October 13 (AVN) - Federal artillery and army aviation choppers inflicted eight strikes upon guerrilla gatherings in the past 24 hours, a source in the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.
According to preliminary data, three rebels' strong points, an ammunition cache and two groups were eliminated.
Guerrillas made 19 attacks on federal installations and continued to conduct subversive operations in different Chechen districts. They changed tactics of using land mines of late, the source said. They place several well-camouflaged mines near one, that is easy to be noticed. The aim of this is to increase the number of casualties during mine-clearing, he added.
Federal sappers exposed and rendered harmless the total of 14 explosive devices since Thursday.
