MOSCOW, October 16 (AVN) - The committee for industry, construction and knowledge-intensive technologies of the State Duma lower house of parliament insists on restoring earlier proportion of expenses in the state defence order, head of the committee administration Antol Surikov said on Monday.
The proportion used to be 50 percent for armament purchase, R&D works, materiel repair, and 50 percent for food supplies, uniform allowances, fuels and lubricants, Surikov told the Military News Agency. However amendments to the law "Concerning the State Defence Order" and the 2001 draft federal budget envisage changing the proportion to 40 and 60 percent, he said.
The sum of the allocations for the defence order is 15 percent less than that allocated for payment of servicemen's money allowances and salaries of the civil personnel, Surikov, said.
The second reading of the federal budget is planned for Friday. The Duma committees for defence, security, industry, construction and knowledge-intensive technologies, and budget and taxes will continue consultations for specifying expenses on the national defence and law-enforcement all the week.
Amendments to the law on the defence order will be discussed simulatenously.
