MOSCOW, October 17 (AVN) - The Regalia vessel of the US Halliburton company is expected to arrive at the site of the Kursk nuclear submarine disaster on Wednesday afternoon, a Navy Staff spokesman told the Military News Agency.
According to the Staff, the Regalia sailors used the day-long stay in the Norwegian port of Honninswog to prepare for the forthcoming recovery operation and to take the additional equipment on board. The divers trained the use of the diving bell at the depth of 12 metres.
The Navy Staff also reported that the weather in the disaster area is quite suitable for the recovery operation: the wind strength is 5-8 metres per second and the sea agitation is no more than three points. Weather forecasters predict no bad weather for Thursday and Friday when the recovery operation is planned to start.
