KIEV, October 17 (AVN) - The next Sea Breeze naval exercise will be held in the Black Sea in the summer of 2001, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Defence Ministry said on Tuesday.
The exact date and theme of the manoeuvres, which traditionally involve the Navies of Ukraine and the United States, will be defined by the ongoing international conference in Vienna, the spokesman told the Military News Agency. In addition to the above-mentioned participants, the multinational training is likely to involve naval servicemen of over 10 Black Sea and Mediterranean countries that take part in the NATO sponsored Partnership for Peace programme,
A peacekeeping operation in the zone of a regional conflict and provision of humanitarian aid to the affected residents is likely to be the main theme of the training again.
