MOSCOW, October 20 (AVN) - RF President Vladimir Putin decreed Colonel Alexander Krutilin to be appointed head of the Defence Ministry 13th R&D Institute, the Military News Agency learned.
Krutilin succeeded Major-General Alexander Nazarov who was relegated to the reserve on medical grounds.
Krutilin was born in 1955 in Voronezh, central Russia. He graduated from the Kharkov Aviation Institute in 1972 and the Zhukovsky Air Force Engineer Academy in 1985. He served as aircraft maintenance engineer, squadron, regiment, division engineer. Prior to his recent appointment he occupied the post of head of the Air Force materiel department technical use and troops repair office.
The 13th Institute is located in Moscow suburban town of Lubertsy. It provides military an scientific support of the aviation materiel from the moment of its development until scrapping and also studies aviation wrecks and accidents happened to military and civil aircraft. The institute comprises some 250 researchers.
