BERIYEV FIRM WORKING ON MOUNTING D-27 ENGINE ON AN-40, AN-42 AMPHIBIANS

TAGANROG, October 27 (AVN) - The local Beriyev aviation research and technical enterprise is working upon installing D-27 rotary-wing engine on the A-40 Albatros and A-42 amphibians, Gennady Panatov, the enterprise's constructor general told the Military News Agency.

According to him, the engine, built in Zaporozhye, will open a good perspective for the A-40 and A-42 planes allowing increase in the flight range and plane gliding over water surfaces 1.5 to 2 times.

The engine is 14,000 horse power and is currently mounted on the AN-70 Russian Ukrainian plane.
