RUSSIAN SHIELD EXHIBITION TO BE HELD IN MOSCOW NOV. 7 - 10

MOSCOW, November 3 (AVN) - The press-conference devoted to the Russian Shield exhibition took place in the RF president administration building on Friday, president administration deputy chief Sergei Kortunov told the Military News Agency.

The conference was organised by the third millennium greeting committee within the All-Russian action entitled On to the Third Millenium without Wars. The exhibition will take place at the All-Russian Exhibition Center from November 7 to 10.

The main topic of the exhibition is the needed reinforcement of the country state defence and its readiness to the 21st century possible challenges and conflicts, Kortunov said. The new types of weaponry on the racks in the models shape, uniform, food and special munition types will be exhibited to the visitors.

According to VDNX-EXPO complex director Nikolai Danilov there are four major exhibition directions: the teenage military service and patriotic training, modern ammunition and military equipment, the double-use conversion equipment and servicemen social protection. Two round tables and a seminar will take place at the exhibition.

The law-enforcement bodies will participate in the exhibition for free while the enterprises are to pay only USD50 instead of regular USD100-300 for a square meter, Danilov added.
