FOUR FED SITES ATTACKED IN CHECHNYA, NO DATA ON LOSSES RELEASED

KHANKALA, November 9 (AVN) - Federal installations have come under fire four times in Chechnya on Thursday, sources in the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.

The federals fired back each time, the source said. No information on losses among the federals was immediately available.

According to the sources, federal troops have captured a rebel arsenal in Grozny. It contained 12 grenade launchers, 17 flame throwers, four assault rifles, some 50 hand grenades and a huge amount of ammunition for small arms that rebels managed to transport to the Chechen capital despite severe difficulties.

The federal command has learned that guerrilla gangs are still using the territory of neighbouring Ingushetia to respite and refill their stocks. In the past few days alone, Chechen militants have been spotted in the vicinity of Verkhny Alkun and Tarskoye. According to the command, rebels are assisted in getting food by some residents of the Dattykh, Nizhny Alkun and Muzhichi villages.
