FEDERAL GROUND SCOUTS PROVE AIR STRIKE EFFECTIVENESS

KHANKALA, November 16 (AVN) - Additional reconnaissance proved that federal aircraft destroyed a 20-strong group of rebels west of the Nizhniye Kurchali village in Chechnya on Sunday, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters in the North Caucasus told the Military News Agency.

According to the scout team leader, none of the guerrillas managed to escape.

The military said that two well-camouflaged sniper spots were detected and destroyed two kilometres west of the district centre Shali. Snipers used to regularly attack forward guard elements of a federal military unit stationed in the area.
