HEXOGEN CONFISCATED, OWNER DETAINED IN CHECHNYA

KHANKALA, November 16 (AVN) - Criminal police detected a rebel arms cache in a cave in the Oktyabrskoye village of Chechnya's Kurchaloi district, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry group headquarters in the North Caucasus told the Military News Agency Thursday.

The cache contained an assault rifle, underbarrel grenade launcher, night sight, several sets of ammunition and special sabotage equipment, the spokesman added, saying the weapons were confiscated and the cache was blown up.

The police also found a cache in a building in the Pravoberezhnoye village of the Grozny rural district that contained a 400-gr pack of hexogen. Citizens helped detain the owner of the explosive. It turned out that he had been wanted by the police for a number of crimes committed in central Russia. His two companions were also detained for their documents seemed forged.
