RUSSIA'S AVIALINE BUREAU CREATES NEW AIRSHIP

MOSCOW, November 17 (AVN) - The local Avialine design bureau has built and tested the PD-3000 multipurpose airship, Anatoly Bykov, the bureau director general, told the Military News Agency.

The dirigible has a volume of 3,000 cubic metres and is designed for visual and instrumental control of the earth in the interests of different services. It is possible to take pictures and determine grids from o n-board of the dirigible. The airship can be used for airlifting people and loads, landing, rescue operations, tourist and advertising actions.

The PD-3000 can fly for 12 hours with a cruising speed of 100 km/h and five hours - 130 km/h. Maximal range of flight is 960 kilometres, height - 2,000 metres, operational height - up to 1,000 metres. Crew is two members. The dirigible has a sustainer engine 2x100 horse powers. With a weight of 1,200 kilos the airship can carry up to 500kg loads.
