NEW MND NORTH COMMANDER VISITS RUSSIAN BRIGADE IN BOSNIA

UGLIJEVIK, Bosnia, November 22 (AVN) - US Major-General Walter Shari, the new Multinational Division North commander together with the division political advisor visited the RF 1st separate airborne brigade headquarters which is the part of SFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a source in the headquarters told the Military News Agency.

The 3rd infantry division replaced the 49th armored division in Bonsia in October 2000 and Shari headed the MND North which includes the Russian brigade.

Colonel Vladimir Demidov, Russian brigade commander, reported to Shari about tasks performed by Russian peacekeepers in the area of responsibility in North-Eastern Bosnia, about control routes and weapons storage sites of former waring factions i. e. Muslims and Serbs which are controlled by the Russian paratroopers.

Shari also visited the paratroopers's camp and a checkpoint. On going back Shari expressed his satisfaction towards missions accomplishment by Russian peacekeeping.
