MOSCOW, November 27 (AVN) - The US Boeing company announced the investment of USD5m into the Mint Capital Limited venture company which finances new technological projects in information and telecommunication areas in Russia, a spokesman for Boeing's Moscow branch told the Military News Agency.
The investments will help Mint Capital Ltd call in a big amount of additional funds in the industries which correspond to Boeing's technological standards, the spokesman said
Boeing is currently engaged in large-scale co-operation with the Information Business Systems (IBS) company which is one of the leaders on the Russian information technologies market, Sergey Kravchenko, Boeing vice-president for international co-operation programmes and business development in Russia, said. This year alone, IBS has completed six successful projects for Boeing Commercial Aviation Services.
Comparing Boeing to all other foreign companies, IBS President Anatoly Karachinsky stressed that Boeing creates more jobs for Russian people here instead of hiring people for working in the United States.
Boeing participates in many co-operation programmes with Russian organisations dealing with aerodynamics means, works on construction elements and flight security. As many as 350 Russian scientists work on Boeing technological programmes, and about 150 Russian engineers from the Ilyushin and Tupolev design bureaux, as well as the Khrunichev space centre, work on various projects at the requests of Boeing.
Russia and Boeing have also worked jointly on the International Space Station (ISS) and the Sea Launch programme, which demonstrate a high potential of space co-operation between the USA, Russia and other countries involved in international space programmes.
