TBILISI, November 28 (AVN) - Russia's intention to introduce easier customs formalities on the Abkhazian and South Ossetian parts of its border with Georgia forces the latter to speed up its process of integration into European and North Atlantic organisations, said Shalva Pichkhadze, deputy head of the international relations service of the Georgian State Chancellery.
According to Pichkhadze, if Georgia were a member of NATO or EU, "Russia would not dare to implement double standards as regards the visa regime."
He confirmed the fact that Georgian authorities regard easier customs formalities on the above parts of the border direct threat to the interests of Georgia.
