GEORGIA ASKS OSCE TO SET UP OBSERVATION POST ON INGUSH BORDER

TBILISI, November 28 (AVN) - Official Tbilisi believes that the introduction of the visa regime on the Russian-Georgian border is not the only way to prevent an allegedly free border crossing by Chechen guerrillas and foreign mercenaries on the Chechen part of the borderline, the Military News Agency learnt.

After permanent observation posts of the OSCE monitors had been set up on the northern part of the Georgian border, there haven't been any border violations, said Colonel Irakly Kopadze, head of the intelligence office of the Georgian State Border Guard Department.

OSCE is considering the Georgian offer to set up an observation post in the Asskoye gorge on the Ingush part of the Russian-Georgian border, Kopadze added.
