KHANKALA, November 30 (AVN) - Four servicemen, including a woman, of the military commandant's office in the Staropromyslovsky district of Grozny were slightly injured by a landmine blast in the past 24 hours, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters in the North Caucasus told the Military News Agency Thursday.
The mine was planted in one of the squares in Grozny. Engineers detected and defused eight more mines laid in populous districts of the Chechen capital.
Extremists that tried to carry out a terrorist act in the village of Vedeno Wednesday have been identified as a result of a special operation. One of them was killed and the rest are now being chased down. During three special operation carried out in the Vedeno district 134 people were checked and 112 vehicles searched. The police detained 20 suspected rebels and seized five large-calibre projectiles, a mine, three hand grenades, several TNT charges and small arms ammo.
Three landmines planted in the vicinity of Khatuni and Mekhety villages of the Vedeno district were defused.
The military report that the building of the commandant's office in the Vedeno district was attacked overnight to Thursday. The attack was repelled, no casualties reported.
