PUTIN PROMOTES AIR FORCE TOP OFFICERS

MOSCOW, December 14 (AVN) - A group of Russian Air Force officers was promoted by the decree of President Vladimir Putin, a source in the Air Force staff told the Military News Agency.

Major-General Nikolai Dubovikov, commander of the 1st air defence corps of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Moscow district, Major-General Ivan Naidenov, deputy chief of the Gagarin Air Force Academy for science and training, and Major-General Ivan Penkov, chief of logistics and deputy commander of the Air Force and Air Defence of the Moscow district for logistics, were promoted to Lieutenant-General.

Colonels Alexander Aleshin, chief-of-staff and first deputy chief of radiotechnical troops of the Air Force, Oleg Balayan, commander of the 5th air defence division of the the Air Force and Air Defence of the Moscow district, Anatoly Kaigorodov, chief of logistics and deputy commander of the 11th Air Force and Air Defence army for logistics, and Alexei Ryabinov, chief of the Armavir Air Force college, were promoted to Major-General.
