KHANKALA, December 14 (AVN) - Chechen rebels assumed 29 attacks against federal military and police installations in the past 24 hours, a source in the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.
According to the source, engineers defused 13 explosive devises planted on the roads and railroads throughout Chechnya. However, it did not help avoid explosions. A mine blew up under an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) slightly injuring one serviceman.
During special operations eight guerrillas were arrested and 31 suspected rebels were detained. The military believe that there are about 1,000 guerrillas in the Vedeno, Urus-Martan, Achkhoi-Martan, and Nozhai-Yurt districts of Chechnya.
