SAMARA, Volga region, December 14 (AVN) - A combined detachment of the main penitentiary department for the Samara region came to Chechnya on Thursday, Major Artur Malivanchuk, head of the department's press service, told the Military News Agency.
According to Malivanchuk, the detachment consists of 65 officers including 44 Mangust special servicemen, who had a large experience in trouble spots. The mission to the North Caucasus will last two months. The main place of dislocation will be Gudermes. The personnel of the detachment will accompany vehicles, clear the objects of mines, supply bodyguards to the Chechen military commandant and guard administrative buildings in Khankala and Chernokozovo.
For many servicemen this mission to Chechnya is the eighth. As many as 18 special servicemen of the department are awarded state orders and medals.
