IRKUTSK, Southern Siberia, December 15 (AVN) - The first batch of two-seat Sukhoi fighters (four planes) took off from the airfield of the local aviation enterprise (IAPO) and headed for China, a source in the company's management told the Military News Agency.
The planes were built under the Russian-Chinese contract. The fighters were piloted by RF Defence Ministry fliers. The second batch of the planes will be sent to the customer in the near future, the source said. The contract envisages supply of 28 two-seaters to China. The schedule of supplies is strictly fulfilled, the source stressed.
