MOSCOW WILLING TO HELP GEORGIA ESTABLISH ORDER ON CHECHEN BORDER

MOSCOW, December 18 (AVN) - Moscow's offer to help Georgia establish order in the regions bordering on Chechnya is still in power, Sergei Yastrzhembsky, aide to the Russian president, told the Military News Agency on Monday.

Russia has obtained information on relocation of "a large Chechen rebel group to the Pankisi gorge," Yastrzhembsky stressed.

According to him, Moscow believes that Georgian authorities cannot control the Akhmeta district properly. Information on the results of Tbilisi's attempts "is not encouraging," Yastrzhemsky said. He claimed Georgia lacks not only manpower and money to establish order on the Chechen border but political will as well.
