SEVERNAYA VERF SHIPYARD TO PRODUCE 10 VALDAI BULK-CARRIERS

ST.PETERSBURG, December 22 (AVN) - The Russian Savings Bank will finance the construction of 10 Vadai river-to-sea bulk-carriers for North-Western steaming, a spokesman for the Severo-Zapadny Flot JS company told the Military News Agency.

According to previously signed agreement, the total long-term credit estimates USD49m with the extinction date of 2008. The bulk-carriers will be constructed at company's order which is the part of the seaming. The Severnaya Verf shipyard will become the main producer.

The shipyard has signed the contract on draft documents design for the Valdai project bulk-carriers with the Vympel design bureau located in Nizhny Novgorov on June 14, 2000. The bulk-carrier has the displacement of 5,000 tons. The Nevsky shipyard will supply the production machinery for the bulk-carriers.

The bulk-carrier will have improved specifications and help the steaming to strengthen its positions on the river and sea cargo transportation market.
