MOSCOW, December 22 (AVN) - Russian, Japanese, Chinese and South Korean governments have signed an agreement on creating the unified radio navigation service with the use of Loran-S and Chaika radar in the Far East, a spokesman for the Russian agency on control systems told the Military News Agency on Friday.
From the Russian party the agreement was signed by Vladimir Simonov, agency director general. The creation of the service will help to accomplish missions on improved accessibility, unity and reliability of navigational provision for the GLONASS, GPS, Loran-S, Chaika, Galileo, Eurofix integrated satellite systems and ground radio navigation systems with their functional additions.
Later North Korea, Philippines, Indonesia, India and other countries of Asian Pacific Region might join the agreement.
The experience of the work on agreement will become a good example for creating the similar service in the Western region, the spokesman said.
