OUTGOING AMBASSADOR TO BOSNIA PRAISES RUSSIAN SFOR CONTINGENT

UGLJEVIC, Bosnia, December 25 (AVN) - Russia's newly-appointed Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Alexander Grishchenko is expected to visit the Russian peacekeeping contingent within SFOR days after taking office, the Military News Agency learned on Monday.

The matter was discussed during the farewell visit of Russia's outgoing ambassador Filipp Sidorsky to the town of Ugljevic. Sidorsky is due to leave for Moscow Thursday. At a meeting with Colonel Vladimir Demidov, commander of the 1st separate airborne brigade, Sidorsky praised the Russian contingent's contribution to re-establishment of peace in Bosnia.

He also said that Mirko Sarovic, who was recently elected Bosnian Serb president, was satisfied with the job done by Russian peacekeepers.
