KHANKALA, December 26 (AVN) - The military commandant's office of the southern Chechen Kurchaloi district helped restore 90 metres of gas pipeline and 150 metres of a local hospital's heating system on Monday, a spokesman for the unified federal headquarters told the Military News Agency.
Helping local self-government bodies is a permanent mission of the commandant's offices, in addition to combating terrorist acts, the spokesman said. For instance, the commandant's office of the northern Chechen Naursky district helped restore 550 metres of plumbing connected to an artesian well and completed repairs of the district hospital's central boiler house on Monday.
The same day, the commandant's team of the eastern Chechen Nozhai-Yurt district assisted in supplies of coal and lubricants for agricultural works. It helped restore a brickyard and start building a power line to the villages of Sayasan, Gansol-Chu and Issai-Yurt.
Construction of a high-pressure gas pipeline between the localities of Giyany and Nozhai-Yurt is also underway in the district.
