MOSCOW, January 18 (AVN) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov has approved the list of defence industry exhibitions which will involve Russian agencies and organisations in the first half of 2001, the government information department reported on Thursday.
Products of Russian defence industry enterprises will be sent to the following international arms exhibitions and air shows:
- international air show Aero India 2001 (Bangalore, India, February 7-11)
- Australian International Airshow 2001 (Melbourne, Australia, February 13-18)
- international arms and defence technologies exhibition UEX 2001 (Abu Dhabi, UAE, March 18-22)
- international air show ASSA 2001 (Buenos Aires, Argentina, April)
- international defence technologies exhibition and conference LAD 2001 (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, April 24-27)
The Rosoboronexport state-owned arms exporter is charged to arrange Russian sections at the shows.
The government resolution signed by Kasyanov allows international demonstration of armament and military equipment lent by the Defence Ministry to developers and producers of military-purpose products for design and tests.
The resolution also allows the Defence Ministry, Industry and Science Ministry, Aviation and Space Agency, Ammunition Agency, Conventional Arms Agency, Ship-Building Agency, Agency of Government Communication and Information, State Technical Commission and Committee for International Military and Technical Co-operation to send their officials to the exhibitions as part of specialist groups dispatched to the shows by the organisations taking part in them. Travel expenses will be covered by those organisations.
