RUSSIAN, UKRAINIAN DMs FINALISE DEBT REPAYMENT SCHEME

KIEV, January 19 (AVN) - Visiting Russian Defence Minister Igor Sergeyev said on Friday that his ministry owes RUR82.7m (USD2.9m) for supplies of military-purpose products from Ukraine.

Besides, the ministry owes RUR138.7m (USD4.89m) for construction of docks in the interests of the Russian Navy and RUR171.6m (USD6.05m) for use of the missile attack early warning system's components in Sevastopol and Mukachevo, Sergeyev told Ukrainian Prime Minister Viktor Yushchenko.

Russia and Ukraine will soon hold negotiations on repayment of the Russian Black Sea Fleet's debt to fuel and energy providers and for utilities, Sergeyev stressed. Russia paid back a part of the debt amounting at RUR150m (USD5.29m) in December 2000.
