MOSCOW, January 22 (AVN) - The Ministry of Taxes and Duties has decided to keep data on income tax paid by servicemen in every region of the Russian Federation in the region's tax inspection office or in specially instituted tax inspections supervising several regions, a spokesman for the Defence Ministry said on Monday.
No minor tax inspections will have access to that data, the spokesman told the Military News Agency. This will be done to ensure confidentiality of documents related to servicemen's taxation. Otherwise, a local tax inspection's database will become a source of information on location and strength of military units that may be accessed without proper sanctions.
The Ministry of Taxes and Duties established the rules of income tax data storage at a special session attended by chiefs of individual taxation departments and representatives of all Russian law-enforcement agencies, the spokesman said.
