MOSCOW MILITARY DISTRICT TO HOLD EIGHT REGIMENTAL TRAININGS IN 2001

MOSCOW, January 23 (AVN) - The Moscow military district is planning to hold eight regimental tactical training with field firing in 2001, a spokesman for the district headquarters told the Military News Agency on Tuesday.

The first training will start on the Gorokhovets testing ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region on Friday, the spokesman said. It will involve the 100th tank regiment of the 3rd permanent-duty motorised rifle division. The next training will be held there in February by the 13th tank regiment of the 4th guard Kantemirov tank division.

Three regimental trainings with field firing took place in the Moscow military district in 2000, one of them being demonstrative for military academy cadets. Prior to that, the district held a regimental tactical training in 1991.
