100TH TANK REGIMENT STARTS TACTICAL TRAINING IN MOSCOW MILITARY DISTRICT

MOSCOW, January 26 (AVN) - The 100th tank regiment under command of Colonel Alexander Shevchuk started a tactical training with field firing with an alarm for instruction early on Friday, a spokesman for the Moscow military district headquarters told the Military News Agency.

The six-day exercise supervised by Major-General Alexei Merkuriev, commander of the 22nd combined arms army, is held at the Moscow district's Gorokhovets training centre. It will feature a practice of new tactical skills at the battalion-company level and special classes for scouts, sappers and chemical experts.

The 100th regiment forms part of the Visla motorised rifle division and formations and headquarters of the division's units will take part in the training as well. The training will be highlighted by the regiment taking the aggressive with field firing, during which own and assigned artillery will be used.

The field firing stage will be attended by Colonel-General Igor Puzanov, commander of the Moscow military district.
