RUSSIAN AIR FORCE CHIEF LEAVES FOR AERO INDIA 2001 AIR SHOW

MOSCOW, February 6 (AVN) - Russian Air Force Commander Anatoly Kornukov and a group of Air Force officers went to India to participate in the Aero India 2001 international air show, a spokesman for the Air Force Staff told the Military News Agency on Tuesday.

Kornukov's visit, which is due to last till Saturday, envisages meetings with the Indian Defence Ministry and Air Force leadership.

The Russian Air Force will be represented by the Russian Knights aerobatics team of the Kozhedub aircraft demonstration centre and an exhibition presented by the Defence Ministry's aircraft repair plants.

While Kornukov is away, his deputy, Colonel-General Vladimir Mikhailov, will be acting Air Force commander.
