MOSCOW, February 6 (AVN) - All unidentified servicemen who died during the first 1994-96 Chechen campaign are planned to be buried in the next three months, Colonel-General Vladimir Isakov, chief of logistics of the Armed Forces and deputy defence minister, told reporters on Tuesday.
As many as 105 men were buried in the Bogorodskoye cemetery in the town of Podolsk, Moscow region, last year, while another 112 unidentified civilians were earlier buried in Rostov-on-Don. So far, 173 bodies remain unidentified, and Isakov thinks it is a sacrilege to keep them unburied without any hope for identification in the coming years.
