MOSCOW, February 15 (AVN) - The 39th separate missile brigade of the the Moscow military district will start an active phase of a tactical exercise within the framework of strategic command post training on Thursday, a spokesman for the district headquarters told the Military News Agency.
The 39th brigade under command of Colonel Mikhail Bezruchenko will hold the training at a proving range near the city of Tver, the spokesman said.
The manoeuvres are supervised by Colonel Vyacheslav Volostnov, deputy chief of the district's missile and artillery troops. Missilemen will practice fire control, hitting strong points and personnel of the maneuvre enemy in the defence area of a general army, the spokesman said. They do not plan to conduct real missile launches at the current stage of the exercise. The manoeuvres will end on Friday.
Last year the Moscow military district conducted 17 command post exercises in the field and on maps by divisions and brigades, 25 command post and tactical exercises with regiments, three regimental tactical exercises with live firing and more than 100 battalion and company exercises with live firing.
